Duplication or Replication...which is the
right choice?
CD & DVD duplication is the affordable
choice for short run duplication projects
of 500 pieces or less. While CD
replication is the clear choice for large
runs over 500 pieces.
Duplication "How does the duplicating
process work?"
CD or DVD Duplication starts with a master
disc
that you the client provides. Blank
CDs or DVDs are then duplicated in a Duplicating
tower that consists of multiple burners. The
master disc is placed in the source drive
and the blank discs in the slave drives. Once
these blank discs are duplicated with your
master discs data they are then labeled with a
high quality printed label or printed with
either thermal or silkscreen printing.
Replication "How does the Replicating
process work?"
The process begins the same as
duplication. You provide us with a finished
master CD or DVD and we create what is called a
stamper. A stamper is a digital mirror image
of your master disc and is used in a press
that takes plastics, metals and bonding
agents to actually stamp an exact copy of
your original master disc. Because of the
lower costs associated with replication
the majority of retail discs on the market
are replicated.
